Overview

The Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve, a wildlife bird sanctuary, is located in my neighborhood. When approached to create an informational campaign to educate the public on the importance of preserving protected communities and habitats, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to use my art to express awareness for their cause.

The campaign was divided into three posters. The first is for the California state bird, the California quail. It reiterates the importance of sanctuaries and wildlife reserves for endangered birds near urban environments. The second poster is for the Torrey Pine tree and National Parks around the country. It focuses on how National Parks benefit the US and its citizens and why it is important to fight to keep them open. The last poster is about water preservation and water quality in the San Diego area.

It’s easy to get caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle and we sometimes don’t remember just how delicate our ecosystem really is. This poster helps to remind San Diego citizens about the imprint of our actions. Overall, the campaign provides public awareness of these environmental concerns, as well as gives them access to additional resources to allow them to educate themselves and opportunities to contribute or get involved.

The posters are printed on 100% recycled and recyclable paper. They are packaged with a paper band securing the folded posters. This makes it easier for volunteers to hand out to people, place in mailboxes or stack in public areas. The posters inversed backs and front work with a cohesive background to allow easy viewing. They are perfect to hang in windows for any sort of spectator walking by!
