The Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve, a local wildlife bird sanctuary, is situated in my neighborhood. When I was approached to create an informational campaign aimed at educating the public on the importance of preserving protected habitats and communities, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to use my art to raise awareness for this vital cause.
The campaign consisted of three posters:
California Quail: This poster highlights the significance of wildlife sanctuaries for endangered birds, particularly in urban environments.
Torrey Pine Tree: Focusing on National Parks across the country, this design emphasizes their benefits to both the U.S. and its citizens, underscoring the importance of advocating for their continued protection.
Water Preservation: This poster addresses water quality and conservation issues specific to the San Diego area, reminding residents of our ecosystem’s fragility.
In our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook the delicate balance of our ecosystem. This campaign serves as a reminder to San Diego citizens about the impact of their actions. It not only raises awareness of these environmental issues but also provides resources for further education and opportunities for community involvement.
The posters are printed on 100% recycled and recyclable paper, packaged with a paper band for easy distribution by volunteers. The cohesive design allows for clear viewing from both sides, making them ideal for hanging in windows or placing in public spaces to reach passersby.
